Christ Church added to its already sacred space by creating the Memorial Graden on September 24th, 1997. The Graden was created for the growing number of people choosing cremation for their loved ones. This sacred place can also be used to commemorate the lives of loved ones resting elsewhere.
The beautifully landscaped gardens provide a sanctuary where family and friends can reflect in peace and tranquility when honouring the memory of a loved one.
The garden is open to all who wish to use them to reflect in peace and tranquility, when honouring the memory of a loved one. The cremains are deposited directly into the earth. A wall encompassing the garden provides a location for granite tablets eternally memorializing the life and death of each individual resting within the garden, or whose remains are interred elsewhere.
Arrangements can be made to use the facilities of Christ Church for a committal service. Within the sanctuary of the Church, can be found a Memorial Book honouring all those whose names are on the Memorial Garden Wall. A Memorial Service is held every year in the autumn, with the names of each person being read aloud and the Gardens are adorned with white carnations by those in attendance.
