Rev. Merv Lanctot, Interim Rector

Merv is the Interim Rector (Senior Pastor) of Christ Church Chatham located in the downtown core area. Merv retired from Holy Trinity Winnipeg as Rector where he served from 2005-2015.

Merv and his wife Susan celebrated their forty-third wedding anniversary this past spring. They have two married children and 4 wonderful grandchildren who reside in the “Peg”.  Merv was  born and raised in  Saskatchewan and is often accused of promoting the Rider Green wherever he goes and is certainly a huge Winnipeg Jets fan.

Merv worked for Imperial Oil for fourteen years as a Power Engineer before going to seminary and then into Ordained Ministry. He received a B.A. from the Canadian Nazarene College and a Bachelor of Theology from St. Paul University in Ottawa. He was ordained in Kingston, Ontario as an Anglican Deacon and then Priest and has served in Parish Ministry in Winnipeg (twice); Kingston, Ontario.; Portland Ontario and Lisbon Falls Maine.

Finding that he was not quite ready for retirement, spent a year in Terrace B.C. teaching  4th class Power Engineers and now serves the Parishes of Chatham on an interim basis until a new Priest is selected.
